Grit Chamber Maintenance

KOMAN performs inspection and cleaning of various stormwater and sanitary sewer infrastructure components at Naval Station Newport in support of facility maintenance activities. KOMAN inspects more than 2,400 stormwater catch basins annually to assess their condition and determine the need for cleaning, which is performed on an as-needed basis. KOMAN also inspects and cleans various grit chambers on schedules ranging from quarterly to annually. Sanitary sewer elements, including grease traps and oil-water separators, are also cleaned on varying schedules from quarterly to annually. Monthly reports are prepared to document the cleaning activities.
